ANNOUNCEMENT CONCERNING THE EARTHQUAKE

First of all, we would like to express our sincere appreciation for the condolences and humanitarian/technical assistance from all over the world in response to the Tohoku-Pacific Ocean Earthquake.
In this announcement, please find information on the situation at our school and in Tokyo, and admission-related notices.
We will give you notices in this website when the information is updated.
■Bunka Institute of Language and Environment
Our school, located in the midst of Shinjuku, Tokyo, was not damaged at all. Rolling power outages continue in Tokyo area. But since we are near Tokyo Metropolitan Government Office, we are not affected. Transportation services are close to normal operation too. Therefore we will start school from April 7, 2011 as scheduled. In case you choose to arrive late, we will offer you lessons to make up for the missed classes after you enroll. Please consult us about the delay.
■Concerns about the Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Plant
The situation at the Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Plant is a deep concern. The Government of Japan, Tokyo Electric Power Co., Japan Self-Defense Forces and Tokyo Fire Department are trying their best to solve the crisis.
Tokyois about 200 kilometers away from the nuclear power plant. At present, the Japanese Government has not reported the levels of radiation highly dangerous to human health in Tokyo and warned residents in Tokyo to evacuate.

■Postponement of the Entrance or Cancellation of Admission Due to the Earthquake
Postponement
We will transfer the admission fee and/or tuition already paid for the renewed admission term, which will be either October 2011 or April 2012. You will also have priority over the student housing. Please apply for postponement by the end of April.
Cancellation
For the students who are given the travel warning to Japan or advised to evacuate from Japan by your government, we will reimburse the admission fee and/or tuition already paid. The acceptance of reimbursement request is from March 11 to the end of April.
