At the BIL Admission Office counter, please fill out the certificate application form and purchase a ticket for the certificate fee at the ticket machine.
(Please check the processing time below and submit your application during office hours.)

② Certificate Issuance Fee and Return Postage
[Payment Methods]

• For applications within Japan… Pay with Japanese postage stamps (kitte) equivalent to the certificate fee.
• For applications from overseas… Pay using one of the following methods.

• Use an international money transfer service
  Western Union
  *Payment via international reply coupons is also accepted until November 30, 2026 　(Please consult us)
• Ask a friend or acquaintance (the proxy) in Japan
• Apply through an overseas office or agent company and pay the issuance fee
  (Seoul Office in South Korea and TIANJIN YU KAI CULTURAL COMMUNICATION CO.LTD in China only)

*Please refer to the “Application Form for Issuance of Various Certificates” for fee amounts.
*If you wish to receive the certificate by postal mail from BIL, we do not accept applications via phone, fax, or e-mail. Please make sure to complete procedure at a BIL counter or by postal mail.

Power of attorney and identification document are required.
“Power of attorney (PDF)” *Please print and fill in the required information.
Copies of identification document (Residence Card, Health Insurance Card, Driver’s License, etc.) for both the certificate applicant and the proxy are required.

From the date Admission Office receive the “Application for Issuance of Various Certificates”:
・Certificates in Japanese: 3 business days after the date of application
・Certificates in English: 5 business days after the date of application

*Please note that the processing time for English “Transcripts and Attendance Certificates” for the Japanese Language Teacher Training Course and the Business Japanese Interpreting Course is approximately 2 weeks.
*The applications and issuance of certificates are not available on weekends, public holidays, or during the summer and winter school-wide holidays. Please allow ample time for processing, as these periods are not included in the processing time.
* If the application document is incomplete, the standard processing time will apply only after confirmation with the applicant has completed.
*Processing may take longer than usual if the application is incomplete due to the request in formats other than those provided by the school, course name, period of enrollment, etc.
*Certificates cannot be issued to applicants who have previously applied for a certificate but have not paid the certificate fee.
